At home
How to measure
Grab a soft tape and a friend. Keep the tape snug, not tight, and stand relaxed.
-
Step 1
Neck
Wrap the tape around the middle of your neck, at the Adam's apple.
Leave room for one finger under the tape.
-
Step 2
Chest
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, under your arms, with your arms down.
This number picks your shirt and suit coat size.
-
Step 3
Waist
Measure around your natural waistline, where you wear your pants.
Slacks usually run one size up from your jean size.
-
Step 4
Sleeve
Raise your arm straight out to the side, level with your shoulder, and bend the elbow square so your fingers point forward. Start at the middle of the back of your neck, go over the shoulder, around the elbow, and down the forearm to the wrist bone.
Tall shirts add 2" of sleeve and body.
-
Step 5
Pant length
Measure from where your belt sits down to the top of your shoe.
We hem in store, so close is fine.

Fit
How Elevate sizes work
Your coat size is your jacket number (chest). The length comes from your height. The nested slack is the standard match: 6" smaller than the coat, so a 42R coat comes with a 36 waist.
| Length | Short | Regular | Long | Extra Long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Height | up to 5'8" | 5'9"–6'0" | 6'1"–6'4" | 6'5" and up |
Elevate runs a little long. If you are between two lengths, go with the shorter one.
| Coat | 36 | 38 | 40 | 42 | 44 | 46 | 48 | 50 | 52 | 54 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pant waist | 30 | 32 | 34 | 36 | 38 | 40 | 42 | 44 | 46 | 48 |
That's the usual match, not a rule. Most guys wear a dress slack one size up from their jean size, so a 34 jean usually means a 36 slack. If yours runs different, pick a different waist when you add the suit, or book a fitting.
